Gilleran Energy Management, Inc. (GEM) is currently searching for a highly skilled Energy Consultant to add to our team. The ideal candidate will have broad expertise in energy efficiency in buildings, building energy modeling as well as experience in providing client deliverables on time and budget.
Objectives of This Role
Conduct field audit work, including testing energy analysis, project management, and project proposal development
Provide timely, professional, and courteous customer service
Collaborate with the project team to gain a complete understanding of project goals, methods and objectives.
Maintain proficiency on state-of-the-art building improvements: HVAC, DHW, lighting, and envelope, including working knowledge of building energy codes.
Apply best energy efficiency practices to meet project goals when evaluating new or existing building projects
Complete California-specific building performance testing for new homes
Maintain project data through to successful completion.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
3+ years of energy consulting and project lead experience
Expertise in:
Home energy rating system (HERS)
Green building consulting
Residential and commercial green building projects
Energy auditing for residential and commercial projects
California and federal energy codes
Recommended Certifications:
CABEC CEA Residential and/or Non-Residential
Either CHEERS or CalCERTS
CALGreen
BuildItGreen GreenPoint Rated
LEED for Homes
Desire to maintain any ongoing certifications
The ability to lift heavy testing equipment
Knowledge of basic HVAC systems and operations
Proven success working with a team and all levels of management
Previous success in providing client deliverables within a projected timeline and budget
Strong attention to detail and deadlines
Ability to provide timely and courteous customer service
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Active listening and the ability to respond to feedback
In-depth knowledge of GEM’s products and services
Complete familiarity with all pertinent software tools
Strong problem-solving abilities and resolution development
Planning and organizational skills, as well as the ability to anticipate conditions and resources needed to complete projects in line with clients’ goals
The ability to meet GEM’s attendance, punctuality, professionalism, policy, and procedural standards
