Gilleran Energy Management, Inc. (GEM) is currently searching for a highly skilled Project Manager to add to our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in project management and energy consulting, as well as broad expertise in energy efficiency in buildings. As a leadership position, the Project Manager will also be required to take personal initiative, conduct independent analysis, interact with clients, and develop teamwork within our organization.
Objectives of This Role
- Lead projects from “dirt to move-in ready” identifying schedules, green building or energy efficiency requirements, budgets, and project implementation estimations
- Effectively coordinate client deliverables within the area of responsibility
- Act as the first point of contact for team members on the project
- Provide technical and procedural guidance to the project team
- Provide effective project team management to complete projects on time and budget.
- Conduct field audit work, including testing energy analysis, project management, and project proposal development
- Understand and apply applicable energy codes to projects
- Understand and apply energy efficiency project goals when evaluating new or existing building projects
- Develop and implement effective technical procedures and quality control methodologies
- Identify opportunities for improvement within areas of responsibility
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients throughout the project, providing updates and responding to questions or concerns as they arise
- Analyze project progress and, when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and costs to ensure the project team is meeting all project requirements
- Provide purpose, direction, and motivation to maximize the performance of the project team
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management experience
- Expertise in:
- Home energy rating system (HERS)
- Green building consulting
- Residential and commercial green building projects
- Energy auditing for residential and commercial projects
- California and federal energy codes
- Recommended Certifications:
- CABEC CEA Residential and/or Non-Residential
- Either CHEERS or CalCERTS
- CALGreen
- BuildItGreen GreenPoint Rated
- LEED for Homes
- The desire to maintain and pursue any ongoing certifications
- The ability to lift heavy testing equipment
- Knowledge of basic HVAC systems and operations
- Proven success working with a team and all levels of management
- Exceptional leadership, mentorship, and team-building abilities
- Previous success in providing client deliverables within a projected timeline and budget
- Strong attention to detail and deadlines
- Ability to provide timely and courteous customer service
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Active listening and the ability to provide effective feedback
- In-depth knowledge of GEM’s products and services
- Strong problem-solving abilities and resolution development
- Planning and organizational skills, as well as the ability to anticipate conditions and resources needed to complete projects in line with clients’ goals
